Graeme Roberts
Graeme died peacefully in Durban on 14 September. His friends and family were present.
Graeme was an Introductory Iyengar Yoga teacher in Essex. He trained on the first teacher training course which Jayne Orton taught in Chelmsford and he completed his training in Birmingham. He lived and taught in Wivenhoe and generously allowed IYCE and individual Iyengar Yoga teachers to use his home studio. He also spent a lot of time, and taught, in South Africa.
He was a big personality and he will be missed. IYCE sends our condolences to his friends and family here and in South Africa.
Workshop in September
Sandra Hitchcock, Dolly Kapoor and Sophie Reynolds taught a General Level Workshop at Highwood Village Hall on 8 September. The donations from the workshop will go towards setting up a centre to improve Iyengar Yoga in Essex.
Yoga Day with Paul Brown
Paul will teach a Yoga Day at Highwood Village Hall, Highwood on Saturday 30 November 2019 from 10.00-16.00. See booking form for full details.
Weekend with Julie Brown
Julie will teach a weekend of yoga at Highwood Village Hall on 24 and 25 January 2020. Booking details will be circulated later.
Weekend with Jayne Orton
Jayne will be returning to Essex to teach a weekend of Iyengar Yoga at Highwood Village Hall on 4 and 5 April 2020. Details will be announced in a later but keep the date free if you intend to come.
Subscriptions
Thank you to everyone who has renewed their subscriptions for 2019. If you have not renewed your subscription yet it would be helpful if you could do so soon so that the subscribers list for 2019/20 can be finalised. The subscription form was sent by email on 12 June. Please note we have kept the Royal Mail PO Box so this is the address to use for all correspondence.
Teachers Support Group
The forthcoming Teachers Support Group sessions at Highwood Village Hall are on 19 October and 16 November.
Pranayama Class
The monthly Pranayama Classes with Susan Long are on 3 November and 1 December 2019 at Highwood Village Hall. E-mail [email protected] to book a place. Equipment is available but you need to bring your blankets. This terms fees are going towards the IYCE building.
Workshop with Claire Hanrahan

Saturday Morning Remedial Class
The next Saturday morning Remedial Class for people with health problems is on 23 November. In 2020 the class will take place on the first and the fourth Saturday of the month. Contact Susan to find out more about this class and for advice on remedial yoga.
